Becoming a Member

All Harvard undergraduates are eligible to join HCUS. Our "Comp" process is rooted in Comprehension rather than Completion or Competition.

Our goal is for prospective members to emerge from their induction with a respect for opposing points of view and an understanding of the value of having one's worldviews challenged in the college environment.

Prospective inductees must deliver two speeches on the debate floor of the society. They must also attend a series of Comp events throughout the semester, including a meal with a member of the leadership team.

Click the button above and select "I want to Comp" to begin the process!
